Four AFDA 2010 graduation films have been selected to be screened at the 32nd Durban International Film Festival taking place from 21 - 31 July 2011. The films are; Lindela, Cake, Blinfde Kleure and Above the Fold.
Next week we will be taking a closer look at each of these films. Check back for more info.

That’s right, AFDA is giving away an iPad through a Facebook promotion. All you have to do is answer a simple question (Hint: the answer can be found on this website). Follow this link to see the question and make your entry: AFDA iPad Giveaway

In our latest poll we asked, “Which recent Oscar winning ‘Best Picture’ do you think is the best?” The King’s Speech and Slumdog Millionaire tied for the top spot, each securing 30% of the total votes. The Departed earned 20%, No Country for Old Men earned 15%, and the last 5% went to The Hurt Locker.
It seems that many people have been wondering, what does AFDA stand for?
It used to be an acronym for African Film Drama Arts. Nowadays though, its not meant to stand for anything, its just AFDA, the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance.
